Their current position, even outside of Europe positions, isn’t acceptable for them as they should be fighting for the leadership. So they still have a lot of potential and should improve much more.

Molde had a really bad start of the season with 3 defeats and one draw in the first 4 rounds, but now are one of the most in-form teams in the Eliteserien with 8 victories in their last 11 league fixtures, and 7 consecutive victories at home (2 in the Cup, 5 in the league).

They are looking much better than at the beginning of the season, much more confident and fluid. Now they are at the same level as shown last season when they won the title.

On the other hand, Sarpsborg is a weak mid-table team. They were pretty irregular, made three consecutive victories and then suffered three consecutive defeats (between all competitions). Defensively they are struggling a bit lately, having conceded 3 goals in their last game against Ham-Kam (2:3) and making a total of 15 goals received in their last 7 league games.

Their coach is offensive and likes to play funny football, so they use to make open games with chances for both sides. And this style against top teams with plenty of quality like Molde use to end with a defeat.

Molde should win this match fairly easily. They are facing a poor defence and this game will likely be very open and attacking. A lot of goals should be scored with Molde emerging victorious. Between all competitions Molde have won Sarpsborg in 6 of their last 7 meetings. Must note the recent Cup’s game where Molde won 3:1, just 10 days ago.
