It was not a great week, and to make things worse FC Lahti scored 3 goals yesterday vs KuPS, I would had been surprised even from 1 goal. Still they lost, but so did I with my -1.5 handicap.

There is Sweden and Norway too which would be of bigger interest, but unfortunately, I had no time this weekend to concentrate on them at all.

So a few words from Finnish Ykkönen again. In short, the picks are based on class and form, with some looking at team news if there is something dramatic.

JäPS v TPS

I have mentioned every time that even TPS are the biggest club in this league they keep on underperforming and failing, but last round they gave their best performance vs EIF and took an early 3-0 lead. Maybe they are finally hitting the form everyone is expecting.

JäPS played a 0-0 with SalPa at home, but it was far from a boring match and something like 4-2 would have described the match better. Yet, they do not score and it is no coincidence, there are no reliable strikers since Ristola injured himself badly. Also first choice keeper Laiho injured himself last time and is out today, and my favourite JäPS player Roope Autio is today missing too.

The JäPS stadion grass is in an unacceptably bad shape, but it is the same for both, and TPS deserves some 50% chance of winning although Umar is suspended, he has been in good form lately.

Jaro v EIF

Jaro have now accepted their season to be a failure, and there is no more talk of promotion this season, more about relegation!

Jaro lost their two games, 0-1 vs mediocre SJK Academy and 3-1 away at the promoted side JJK, deservedly so, and in short I see no reason how they could challenge top side EIF, even if they do miss key player Esue, and another regular Lindholm due suspension.
