They are actually only four points behind the 7th-placed team. So a European finish is not out of the question, which would represent an excellent campaign. This may be a tall order considering that they will be meeting Valencia and Barcelona in their next two matches. However, they are still technically not safe from the relegation zone. They are ten points away from the relegation zone, and a win against Almeria will ensure their safety as well.

Mallorca have got two reasons to win this encounter; fight for European spot and ensuring safety from the relegation zone. Coupled with their superior form over their opponents, they are the clear favorites to win. But, Almeria have been fairly good at their home all season, and they may just fight for at least a draw, as a point will go a long way to ensuring their safety from the relegation.
