The last few games of the Italian Serie A campaign are very crucial for Empoli and they must pick themselves up to keep playing in the top flight. Bologna has dipped in the last few weeks and I don't see them beating Empoli away from home. Empoli is back at home in the Italian Serie A where they have played better than most midtable opponents they have faced. Paolo Zanetti's team has earned 19 points at home this season and it is a good return for a team in the second half of the table. They were unlucky to have too many tough fixtures towards the end of last month but their remaining games look better and they need to start picking up points to ensure their safety. Empoli has a five point lead over the bottom three and they would be looking to build on this or even maintain it with only six games left. Bologna is far from making the playoffs but they are already safe from the drop and they aren't motivated enough to play at their best.

Bologna has a very terrible record against Empoli and almost every season in recent times, they have failed to beat the hosts. There has been nine league meetings between Empoli and Bologna from 2015 till date and they have managed only one victory in that period while Empoli has been more successful with five wins. Three games finished as a draw in a game at this Stadium last season. Empoli has two wins in the last three games against Bologna and with this match of utmost importance for the hosts, I think they would perform better against a Bologna team that is winless in three consecutive games.
