Having watched all games at the U21 tournament so far, I can safely say that together with Hungary U21 - Iceland U21 is definitely the weakest team to make it to this big forum.

With all due respect to Russians, who showed class in the 4-1 win a couple of days ago, Iceland’s performance was disturbingly poor, especially the way they collapsed after conceding the opening goal.

Interesting fact, Iceland U21 is under a new manager for this tournament - 34 year old Davíd Snorri Jónasson and he hasn’t had a chance to test the team. Arnar Thór Vidarsson, former head coach, got promoted to the senior Iceland side.

Clearly, things had not gone according to plan on the debut for Jonasson and, moreover, he seemingly had little control of the squad at hand as they collapsed to concede 4 goals in the game against Russia.

There is little class about the team, in general. To give you a small idea of what their players are about - defensive midfielder Willumsson is considered “important” in squad hierarchy; at club level he is usually warming the bench in Belarus Premier League side BATE.

Apart from the poor impression Iceland had left, the 2nd argument for my pick on Denmark is the tournament situation - after losing on the opening matchday, Iceland is now pressed against the wall - any result but a win here will send them out of the EURO.

Danes did not show anything outstanding against France, apart from great team discipline and physique. It was their opponent who activated the self-destruction button by going with a new tactics/formation and totally collapsing in that attempt. The 1-0 win was fortunate, yet, France hardly deserved anything but to be beaten for what they had produced on the pitch. Now Denmark knows that they can confirm qualification to the play-off stage with a win against the group's weakest team - what better chance than this would they want.

I can’t see the game ending in a draw and, believe, Iceland will fail to pull off a surprise.
