Nice vs Basel

If we look at Nice latest results they are kinda poor but they are right now only focused on this competition because of the injuries they got, they don't have the team to focus on their own league and since they aren't fighting for nothing in their own league their focus is in the ECL and they have a legit chance to win it all in terms of talent. In the 1st leg they got a 2:2 draw on the road against Basel, overall it was a very even game but with Nice been always more dangerous and overall Nice campaign in the ECL has been rock solid, they won their group with good teams like Partizan, Koln and the weaker Slovacko what gave them a free round and only needed to play in their last round against Sheriff Tiraspol where they won 1:0 on the road and 3:1 at home and showing good football, especially in the home game where they usually are a really strong team.

For this game Nice is without Atal, Beka Beka, Diop, Lotomba, Pepe and Viti. Ndayishimiye and Ramsay are doubtful.

Basel in my opinion is having a crazy run in the ECL this season but in their own league they are struggling, similiar to Nice. However, their campaign in the ECL was a 2nd place in their group with Slovan Bratislava, Pyunik Yerevan and Zalgiris. It was a very easy group for them but they only managed to end in 2nd place what don't gave them any free round. In the knock-out stage they lost to Trabzonspor on the road by 0:1 and at home they beat them by 2:0. To be fair, they have no clue how they got over Trabzonspor, in the road game where they lost 0:1 they could have easily lost by 3 or 4 and than in their home game they were super effective and won 2:0 in a game where Trabzonspor kinda was the better team again, luck was on their side for sure. Next round they faced again Slovan Bratislava and the home game ended in a 2:2 draw and on the road the game was also 2:2 in the end of the 90th minutes, Basel scored the 2:2 in the 90+3 minute of the game and than took the game to penalties where they won, overall, Basel has been very lucky so far in this competition and today opponent is a different level in my opinion.

For this game Basel is without Comas, Frei and Lopez who is suspended. Calafiori and Hitz are doubtful.

Nice has their focus in this competition and overall in my opinion are a much more talented team than Basel, however, they need to play well to beat Basel and at home with the support of their fans I believe they will. I expect Nice to control the game and have the better scoring chances and even Basel at home was competent I think on the road they usually struggle, we saw the problems that they had against Trabzonspor on the road even they only lost by 0:1 is could have been easily by 3 or 4 and Nice mid-field and attack is still very legit and dangerous, even with all their injuries. I expect Nice to win here by 2:1 or 3:1 and advance to the next round.
