First round of the Finnish Ykkönen continues today with interesting matches, in all of these the ones I have chosen are about 50% winners.

The winner of this league wins promotion to Premier League, and due to television rights and a few other financial changes getting promoted would mean a lot of money for the first time, and there will be a huge race and risks with player signings will be taken.

Currently the player budgets with all Ykkönen clubs are more or less the same, a few hundred thousand euros, except with KPV who have not published it at all.

Short distance, TPS always the biggest favorite to promote as they have the best squad with also former international players like Kasper Hämäkäinen, a big city and a traditional organization behind them in one of the biggest Finnish cities, Turku.

EIF are from a small town of Ekenäs, a swedish-speaking gem of a city, and they have had co-operation with IFK Mariehamn, they tend to sign their foreign signings very late to avoid paying for long term wages, and the result has been varied. Some have been really good, some not. EIF also tend to risk a lot with depth of the squad, there is not one, and the bench players are in a completely wrong level.

The one good thing one can say about EIF latest matches is that most of them are against decent teams, apart from the last one against a lower league club PK-35.

With JJK there is not much add to budget. They are the promoted club, the smallest, with least resources, and looking at the preseason and results there neither seems to be any ambition and they have struggled with teams from lower leagues. At the moment they look very weak. They have lost to Jaro and VPS by 0-3 and 4-0, and this is almost a similar challenge.

KPV to win this one easy.

I also planned to hit JäPS away at Salo, but there has been some downward trend recently so it is not so attractive idea anymore. You can place an asian moneyline handicap bet for them, I do not see them losing.
