Jerv were like a tourist last year as newly promoted in the Eliteserien. They ended their first every Eliteserien season with 5-5-20 and 30-69 in goal difference. Ended with last place in the table, they were relegated back to Obos Ligaen.

There has been a big exodus from the squad and this season Jerv almost have to start with a new squad, with newcomers of this year and reserves of last year. Jerv were truly lucky 2 years ago when they were promoted into Eliteserien through playoffs. They must not have the ambition of returning immediately because they don’t have the financial means to build up a strong enough squad.

Ranheim had a very good first half of the season in Obos Ligaen last year, but it came to an abrupt halt after the summer where they won only one of their last 11 games (1-3-7), and they finally finished in 8th place in the table, 3 points behind Kongsvinger, who played promotion qualification.

Ranheim have lost some players as it happens to other Obos Ligaen clubs, but they also brought in some interesting names. John Hou Sæter is back in Trøndelag after a few years in China, and he could prove to be a fine signing.

I don’t see Jerv with a big advantage here.

Kristiansund seem to better prepared to challenge the promotion than the other relegated team Jerv.

Kristiansund had a terrible first half of the season in the Eliteserien last year, where they had only taken three points before the first win of the year came in the 16th round of the series.
