Andorra host Romania at the Estadi Nacional for the Group I Euro 2024 qualifying match on Saturday night. There are 101 places separating both teams in the FIFA World Rankings. Andorra are the lowest-ranked team in the group at 153rd, and they have never qualified for any major tournament before. Romania should be beating Andorra by a wide margin of goals not less than 2. These are my reasons:

Firstly. The gulf in quality between both teams is too wide. Andorra have only recorded 6 wins in their last 90 matches. It is not looking surprising now why they are ranked 153rd in the FIFA rankings. Andorra's performance in the last year's UEFA Nations League also ended in disappointment as they remained in the League D after failing to record enough points to achieve promotion. The 153rd-ranked Andorra have only ever recorded one win in European Championship qualifying match in their history, when they won Moldova 1-0 in 2019. To underline the lack of quality in the Andorran team, they do not have any senior player playing in the top European leagues. Romania have some good options playing in top leagues compared to Andorra.

Secondly. Romania will be looking to make up for narrowly missing out clinching a place in Qatar World Cup finals. They have kept themselves busy since then by playing a couple of International friendlies. Their last match was the demolishing of Moldova by 5-0, with the five goals scored by different players. The 52nd-ranked team have only suffered three defeats from their last 13 Euro qualifying games away from home. So playing away from home against Andorra will not be a big deal to them. Romania have resoundingly beaten Andorra in their last four meetings; and I expect that culture to continue in this encounter.

Romania may not be a force they were once in the past, but they should be scoring a couple of goals and winning by at least two goals against Andorra considering how poor Andorra have been.
