After 30 rounds played, it seemed that Fleetwod would play calmly until the end of the season, without too many expectations for the playoffs. But in the last five rounds, that has changed a lot. They tightened their defense and conceded just one goal in their last 5 games. They are currently only 5 points behind the place that leads to the fight for a higher rank. Out of a possible 15 points, they scored as many as 13 and thus put themselves in a nice situation to compete for a place leading to the playoffs. Proof that they have raised their level of play can be found in the results of the last games in which they won very high quality teams, as well as direct rivals for the playoffs, Ipswich, Gillingham and Lincoln. One of their biggest advantages is keeping advantage and in each of the previous four victories they have safely brought the game to an end after scoring the first goal. 

Today, they welcome the team that joined this league this season, but with their results they show that it will be difficult for them to stay in it. Swindon is in the last position on the table and really seems very unconvincing, and four defeats in the last five games will certainly not help them change that impression. They leave an even worse impression on the away field, where they received at least two goals in as many as 13 of 16 matches. The four defeats were suffered by teams in the fight for a higher rank and what distinguished them in those matches was the very small number of chances created. With a very poor game in attack, they are also the team with the most goals conceded in the league and as such are an ideal opponent for Fleetwood to continue the winning streak and get closer to a place in the playoffs.
