Lille is making huge strides in their bid for a top four finish. They are regular contenders for a place in the UEFA Champions League spots in the French Ligue One. Lille remains the only team to break PSG's dominance recently when they won the league in the 2020/21 season. They are facing Lens this week who are also looking to gather points in the top four. Lille to win or draw is my best pick for the following reasons;

First of all, Lille has always been a bigger team than Lens and the odds are quite confusing here but this should be to the advantage of the punters. A minor dip in form saw Lens move into the top two but they have been dropping down the table over the last few games. Lille has a better squad with notable players like Jonathan David who is among the highest goalscorers in the French Ligue One. Despite losing players like Nicolas Pepe, Lille still has a better team than Lens and this could be a huge advantage for them like we saw last season. Lens met Lille three times in different competitions last year and could only manage one win, losing at home to Lille in the Ligue One and getting knocked out of the Cup last time at this venue. Lille can definitely get a win or draw against Lens and considering the odds here, it is an attractive bet.

Secondly, Lille is in much better form now than at the beginning of the season. They have only lost once in five games, which was the last minute 4-3 defeat against Paris Saint Germain. It was Lille's second defeat in over fifteen games and Paulo Fonseca's team looks to have hit their peak this season. At a time when Lille is playing well, Lens have been exhibiting poor displays in the last few weeks. Lens' only win in the last eight games was against Nantes and they would be very lucky to escape with a point against Lille but I don't see them winning here. Just a few days ago, Nantes got revenge over Lens as they knocked out Franck Haise's team from the Coupe de France.

Lille is playing their best football of the season and they would be very confident of all three points against a Lens team that is low on confidence. I'm predicting this to go in favor of Lille with an away win or draw.
