The USA did not convince in their opener and look to have a tough time tonight as well.

England have been the biggest exclamation mark in the championship so far with their 6-2 victory in the opener against Iran. England could not have wished for a better start to the Championship. There may have been a goal missing for Kane but it will most certainly come during the group stages given their upcoming opponents. The good thing is that Harry Kane had no serious problem with his ankle.

There is a class difference between the teams if you look at the starting elevens. There is hardly a player in the USA who could start in the England XI. Now that England got the good start they had hoped for in the championship, they are becoming very difficult to deal with. Southgate has four or five different attacking options to choose from behind Kane on top, all of whom showed fine form in the opening match against Iran.

However, USA are such a physical team that England might want to save some energy and get better prepared for the second phase. That’s why I think there is a big percentage of chance for a draw or England’s 1-goal win.
