Hartlepool vs Solihull Moors

Hartlepool and Solihull Moors lock horns in this FA Cup 1-128-finals re-match at Victoria Park in Hartlepool early Wednesday morning Beijing time. The stakes are high here as the FA Cup is the most respected cup in England with a lot tradition! Progressing to the second round would be important for both clubs. I think the odds offered on the betting market are not correct here. Odds on the visitors with the biggest, sharpest bookies have been coming down in the past 24 hours which seems odd in my my opinion.. At the time of writing this analysis they are solid favorites on the betting market with odds around 2.20 to win during the 90 minutes of play. The main reason behind the drop must be Hartlepool's massive injury problems but this factor is surely given too much emphasis by the bookies. The hosts' Alex Lacey has a dislocated shoulder. Furthermore, for example Mark Shelton, Tom Crawford and Alex Lacey are out. However, David Ferguson and Paterson returned last week-end and should be available - important players for the hosts. The match first match between the teams was a 2-2 and this was not a an unjustified result. Solihull Moors were priced around 1.75 on the betting market to win and were certainly not as strong ass the odds would suggest!

We must not forget that Hartlepool play in League Two (4th tier) – the visitors, on he other hand play in the fifth tier! The is a clear difference between these levels of English football. Hartlepool's players are used to higher tempo and facing more skilled and organized teams. According to a well-known and respected German website Transfermarkt.com the hosts’ squad is valued at 3.08 million euros. The visitors’ players have a total market value of just 400 000. The market values can, of course, sometimes be misleading, but the bookies and many professional football bettors pay more and more attention to these numbers.. The football (players) market is, after all, a global one. However, if two players are equally good and one of them is 25 years old and the other is 31years old the younger one, of course, has a much bigger market value. In my view, the market values here are not correct. Solihull Moors are stronger on the pitch than the 400 000 would reflect but are certainly not a better team by raw class than Hartlepool with almost 8 times higher players' total market value! The hosts should indeed have potential for much better performances than we have seen so far. They have had a difficult season in League Two and have taken just 12 points and are in the 23th place in this league with a total of 24 teams. Even so, they have looked a little better recently compared to the early season. They have taken one win and one draw in their most recent five games. With a hint of luck the results could luck a lot better! The visitors have not looked good lately and have not won any of their latest five games - losing to of the most recent matches without even scoring a goal after lame offensive performances. The hosts, boosted by demanding home fans, should be narrow favorites here and as the a draw would be enough for my fans and me we have a high chance of winning!
