In today's match Rennes have an opportunity to extend their unbeaten run to eight consecutive matches in all competitions when they host Dynamo Kiev in what will be the third encounter for both sides in the Europa League group stage. After two fixtures, Rennes takes first place in Group B with four points, while the Ukrainians are at the bottom of the group, after losing both games they played. In my opinion, Rennes are huge favorites in this match for many reasons. They are known for their extremely attacking style and they finished last season with 82 goals scored in 38 games played, just 8 less than the mighty PSG. For the sake of comparison, the other big teams from France scored around 60 goals in the season last season, and that speaks volumes about the attacking potential of Rennes. In that season, they had as many as three players who scored double-digit goals, Terrier, Laborde and Bourigeaud. Of the three mentioned, only Laborde left the club, who went to Nice, but his departure was replaced by Rennes by bringing the great Gouiri from Nice. In addition to them, I must also mention Kalimuendo, a great striker who came to the club from Lens, and the very talented Lovro Majer, a midfielder, who is said to be the new Luka Modric. That kind of depth and talent has been evident at the beginning of this competition, and it seems that Rennes is slowly but surely returning to form in the domestic championship. They are currently in a series of seven matches without defeat and are very reminiscent of the team from last season that played perhaps the best football in the French league.

Unlike them, Dynamo Kyiv can't boast of a great game lately. In the domestic championship, they are currently in ninth position after four played rounds and have only six points. In addition to the bad results in the domestic championship, the results in the Europa League are really not good for them. Although the loss to Fenerbahce was perhaps expected, the loss to AEK Larnaca at home certainly shook their confidence. The well-known situation in their country also has a big impact on their results, as they are forced to play only with local players, and this greatly affects the results. Rennes has had the advantage at half-time in all their victories so far this season and they are well known for immediately attacking their rival's goal, and I'm sure it will be the same tonight against a very weakened opponent.
