KAA Gent leads the group, as they have a better goal difference than Djurgarden. After playing goalless away to Molde, they won easily over Shamrock Rovers 3-0. Hugo Cuypers netted first and then Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe scored twice before the final whistle. The defense has been stable and has not made any mistakes. In the Jupiter Pro League, things have been slower as they are in 9th place in the table, with 14 points after 10 rounds. Gent has a good team and it is not surprising that they have a slow start to the season and this happens almost every year. This year they brought Peter Hauge from Milan and we can expect him in the first lineup. As for the Swedish club, they have done well in the tournament. They too played goalless in the opening game away in Ireland and then took a home victory over Molde 3-2, after goals from Amadou Doumbouya, Emmanuel Banda and Joel Asoro. But then Djurgarden had to play with one more man for over half an hour when Datro Fofana was sent off, at 1-1. Djurgarden then won over Goteborg 3-0, but then lost by the same result against Degerfors away. Strange! The team is fighting for the league gold in the Allsvenskan, where Victor Edvardsen has 9 goals and 8 assists. Combining the fight for the league title in Sweden with games outside Europe is draining. Since Djurgarden is coming off a lousy effort, as well as the fact that it now faces tricky Belgian opposition away from home, the chances for points are slim. The guests need to think about the title race in their domestic championship, therefore the bet falls on Gent to win this game.
