Rennes didn't start the season the way they hoped but they are a great team and it's only a matter of time before they start grinding their opponents. They beat AEK in Larnaca in the first game of the Europa League with 2-1, although they played in a mixed lineup and rested some players. Today they will play against Auxerre, newcomers to the league and are big favourites to win. Coach Bruno Genesio will not have forwards Jeremy Doku and Arnaurd Kalimuendo at his disposal, but even without them, Rennes has a very strong attacking trio led by Martin Terrier, who will probably be joined by Benjamin Bourigeaud and new reinforcement Amina Gouri. This is a very high-quality player, an offshoot of Lyon's school of football. Rennes is very strong in their stadium and I expect total dominance for the whole 90 minutes. The guests have started the league well, they have two wins and are in the middle of the table. Their task is to stay in the league this year and that will be the focus of this team. But today they play a team that is designed to fight for the Champions League and has one of the best teams on paper. Auxerre also has problems with injuries, coach Jean-Marc Furlan will be without several important players. Auxerre lost two games in a row, against Lyon and Marseille, and it was clear that this team cannot play against strong teams. Anything but a convincing victory for the hosts would be a real draw today, there is a big difference in quality, therefore bet falls on Rennes to win this game.
