Levante should win easily here.

Levante has one of the best teams in the league. After a long time in La Liga, they were relegated last season and built a team to promote again this year. A very solid block reinforced by some great transfers, to make a team who is above almost all rivals in this category, at the same level as other top teams (newly relegated too) like Granada or Alaves.

They have a big budget, experience and now just need good results.

The start of the season has not been the best for them, with just 1 victory in 4 rounds (and 3 draws). That’s why they need a victory here: if they want to be at the top of the league, they need to get more points. The team already has pressure to win today, to avoid making the difference with the top positions bigger.

They have some players with injuries or suspensions, but I’m not worried about it because one of the strongest points of Levante (in comparison with other teams in this league) is the deep squad and the quality they have in the bench too. They have at least 2 good players in each position.

On the other hand, Villarreal B has been the surprise of the season. They were promoted from the lower categories and are playing in this league just with the target of making good players for the first team, because they can’t be promoted never (the B team can’t never be in the same league as A team).

They started the campaign very well, with 2 victories (against weak teams), one draw at home against Eibar and a game I expect similar to today: a huge defeat away (3:0) against a top team - Granada.

Personally I rate Granada a bit better than Levante, but both teams on paper are pretty similar and should be in the top positions. And they outplayed and easily beat at home Villarreal B.

For this game, Villarreal B has some problems in defense as they will miss several starters (Pablo Íñiguez, Iker Goujón, Álex Forés and Abraham). Furthermore, some players played just 2 days ago the Conference League game of the A team against Lech Poznan: Jorgensen, De la Fuente and Íker Álvarez.

Villarreal B is a very offensive team and this against top rivals (like Granada, Levante…) is a defeat guaranteed, because Levante has a lot of quality upfront. I’d say that even hosts have more urges to win, added to the fact that they are a much better team makes me see them as strong favorites to win today.
