Silkeborg has come a long way in the last two years, from second place in the second Danish league in the 2020/2021 season to possible participation in the Europa League this season. Experienced coach Kent Nielsen, who does a fantastic job at the club, is certainly the most responsible for that, and it's a real wonder he hasn't ended up in a big Danish club yet. Silkeborg is currently the leader in the Danish league, in the last round they defeated Nordsjaelland away from home by 2-0 and the players needed a morale boost before this very important game with the Finnish champion HJK. The home side lost the first game in Finland 1-0, they were the better rival on the pitch until defender Andre Calisir received a red card in the 68th minute. Later, David Browne gave his team a very important victory with a fantastic shot from 20 meters. There is no doubt that a completely different game awaits us now, Silkeborg will play in their stadium, in front of their fans, and the odds fell heavily on the victory of the home team, they were 1.9, now they are 1.5, which says enough that the market is leaning towards the Danes. The Finnish league is not very strong in my opinion and Finnish clubs rarely reach the group stage of European competitions. I believe that the quality is on the side of the Danes, they were not lucky in the first game and I expect it to return to them in the second leg because they are currently a better team, in good shape and certainly better than HJK.
