Before the season started, Newcastle took strong victories in the friendlies over Atalanta and Athletic Bilbao.The good form lasted until the premiere, where newcomer Nottingham Forrest was defeated 2-0. After a goalless first half, Fabian Schar netted the first goal. Callum Wilson punctuated the game with 12 minutes remaining. The victory was followed up by a goalless performance against Brighton at the Falmer Stadium. Newcastle didn't create much there and only got a single shot on target. That the defence has managed to keep a clean sheet is impressive. But the fact that the attacking game is no more than okay is not enough against the champions. This is when Man City pours in goals, on everything and everyone. The fact that there is an Erling Haaland at the top makes it easier. He netted both of the team's goals in the opener against West Ham at London's Olympic Stadium, in a 2-0 victory. Then it was a walk in the park at home against newcomers Bournemouth. Ilkay Gundogan netted first, then Kevin De Bruyne and finally Phil Foden, who was in the mood to play. The final 4-0 goal was an own goal by Jefferson Lerma. Apart from a great ball possession of 67%, they had 19 shots on goal, of which 7 were on target. And that the defence was brilliant and shut everything down again. Newcastle had nothing to oppose when Man City stood on the other side of the grass. At home, it was 0-4 and then 0-5 in Manchester. Pep Guardiola's team is having a great start to the new season, the team is looking fresh and eager to win another title so I would suggest a away win here. It won't be easy but I think Man City have everything it takes to win today.
