Asane vs Sandnes

Asane host Sandnes for this Norwegian OBOS-Ligaen round 11 clash at Myrdal Stadion in Bergen. This is the second tier of Norwegian football, and the level is considerably lower than in Elitserien, the first tier. Betting-wise it is a promising league to bet on and I will be posting a large number of picks on Norwegian football especially during the summer. Football as a whole is on the rise on this Scandinavian country - one of Finland’s neighbors. Their national team have played well lately and most football fans know what an amazing striker Erlin Håland is. A decent number of home fans is expected at the stadium today to support Asane. There are leagues and team with bigger home advantage, but this factor cannot be underestimated here..

Asane faced a dangerous team, Ranheim, in their most recent match and lost 1-2 at home. Ranheim currently occupy the 4th place in the standings. Asane were set as pretty clear underdogs in this match according to the betting market so the loss does not worry be at all ahead of this match. The match looked pretty balanced as a whole and I would say a draw would have been a justified result.. The hosts had 54% ball possession and more attacks and dangerous attacks. Ranheim, on the other hand, had more scoring attempts and shots on target. Before this they faced Raufoss away from home and were not at their best. They did defend well but would probably need to improve offensively to win here. The potential is there, and the presence of home fans surely raise their confidence. On the 26th of May they took a solid, deserved home win over Grorud. 3-2 was the final score. However, today even a draw would be enough for my fans and me to take the fifth winner in a row! The chances of winning with the +0.5 goals handicap option are indeed high as I see the hosts as slim favorites here - despite the fact that Sandnes are slightly better by raw class - especially in terms of defensive structure. Asane currently occupy the 12th place with just nine points in the bank but in terms of expected points, a statistic used by most professional football bettors, the hosts would have deserved a few more points. Sandnes, on the other hand, are in 5th place with 19 points but have exceeded undoubtedly exceeded my expectations but have also had quite a lot of luck on their side. For example, in round 9 they faced Sogndal and took a rather undeserved 2-1 away win as clearly underdogs. I believe that especially this result is behind the over-valuation on the betting market..
