Top match at 2nd highest tier Ykkönen. KTP from Kotka are traditionally a strong home team who regularly also play in the highest league, Veikkausliiga. Gnistan are one of dozens of Helsinki-based small clubs who mostly are known as a big youth club without any success in national level.

KTP have suffered in front of the attacking goal, mostly due to the fact they have missed Spanish striker Mika and they have little other classy options, Gnistan have scored 22 goals in their 8 games but it has to be remembered that they scored 10 vs JäPS, in one bizarre game! If we omit that one the record looks completely different.

Gnistan have played only 3 away games so far so it is too early to make any conclusions. All of the 3 have been to same area rather far away from Helsinki, and they have a 2-0-1 saldo out of these, including a 4-0 loss to SJK Academy! Looking at all of their last Ykkönen games they have won 4 out of 5 and that is naturally respectable run, but I would like to stress out that there were all promoted 3 teams PIF, PEPO and JäPS in that run and it might be somewhat misleading.

KTP at home are 2-2-0, the draws coming vs another promotion favourite TPS and EIF, and despite dominating the matches in general it has been obvious that they are not on their best in slow attacks against well-formed defenses,

why I like them today is that Gnistan like to build carefully from the defense and they try to keep the ball at all occasions, and they are very vulnerable to the high pressure KTP is going to apply today!

All in all there is no dramatic team news to report from latest rounds.

A draw is always an option under these circumstances where there is not much class-difference and the match is expectedly a low-scoring one, but I believe in KTP aggressive high pressure today, and the home odds offer value as KTP are + 45% home favourites today.
