Yokohama has started the season strongly, with the same ambition as last year, to compete for the title against the Kawasaki Frontale, which is not as good as last year. Yokohama pushed for the championship until the end of the previous season, but they finally gave up. They are presently in 3rd position and now they have an easy job at home against newcomer Kyoto. Yokohama has a highly powerful team led by Brazilian internationals Lopes, Eduardo, Leo Ceara, and Junior M. These players can make a difference on the pitch. Yokohama played a very interesting game against Urawa 3-3 away and then lost a little bit unexpectedly against Fukuoka 1-0 in the last round. Now they are coming back home where they play with a lot of confidence. The guest started well their season in higher ranks and are in the middle of the table. He certainly owes a place to the Nigerian veteran Utaka who still plays at the top level despite his late years. He will be a big problem for Yokohama's defence, so I expect both teams to score in this game. Kyoto can hurt Yokohama, their defence is allowing a lot of goals lately, but I think Yokohama has a stronger final third and they should be able to outscore visitors. There is no doubt that an interesting match awaits us, over 2.5 goals are very likely, but I would prefer the host, who is a great team and should win in front of his fans.
