Gil Vicente are the sensation of this season with an amazing work by the players and especially by the coach Ricardo Soares, they are currently in the 5th position fighting with Vitoria Guimaraes for this position. Yesterday Guimaraes failed to win against Boavista, but luckily for them they were able to draw as they played the last minutes with 10 players but in the last second of the game the player from Boavista - Yusupha Njie missed a clear chance without the goalkeeper in the net and with that point Gil Vicente need to win this game as the draw or the defeat is the same for them as in the next game they will go to Estadio D. Afonso Henriques to play against Guimaraes and the stadium will be completely full and it will put a lot of pressure on Gil Vicente's players. They are in a terrible shape with only 1 win on the last 9 games and some defeats, but some of those games were not deserved as they created much more and more clear chances than their opponents, their expected goals (xG) were almost the double than the opponents in half of those games that they failed to win. In the last game against Sporting they lost 4-1 but were a bit unlucky in my opinion, they had 2 goals disallowed by VAR and one penalty that the VAR cancelled. They will have an open game against Tondela that are really affected after the last game where they could have score and threw an amazing chance of winning the game. They have no absences as Vitor Carvalho is back after suspension. The individual quality from Gil Vicente is clearly better than Tondela, they have one of the best goalscorers of the league - Fran Navarro, one of the best wingers from the league who was already sold to Atletico Madrid - Samuel Lino and the midfielder in best shape from the league - Pedrinho.

Tondela are a really good club with a solid project in the last seasons. In the last 3 seasons they had always spanish coaches, first was Natxo Gonzalez who did only one season and then Pako Ayesteran who started this season and was doing an amazing job in my opinion, he put them into the final of the Portuguese Cup (he only did the 1st leg but did the most important as they won 3-0 in the 1st leg and then the new coach drew 1-1) for the 1st time in their history. It wasn't explained by the president why he decided to sack Pako Ayesteran, but then they decided to buy Nuno Campos who made only 10 games on his professional career and was on Santa Clara - was sacked after that due to bad results. His debut was a victory against Maritimo as away by 3-1, but after that they did not win more with 3 draws and 2 defeats and they were completely overplayed in the 2nd leg of Portuguese Cup against Mafra (from the 2nd division). In the last game they played against a Pacos de Ferreira that were playing without any objective and even so they were not able to win the game, the winger Rafael Barbosa failed the best goal chance I saw this season that could give the 2-0, and then they conceded a goal in the minute 90 by Lucas Silva. I do think that it affected a lot the team and cannot see them motivated and having a good reaction here against this strong Gil Vicente. They need to win this game if they want to avoid relegation places or atleast end in the play-off position which is not the worst scenario as draw or losing is the same as they have only 1 more point than Moreirense and Moreirense have advantage if they end the league with the same points. They will need to play an open game and eyes to eyes with this strong Gil Vicente. I cannot see them winning this game honestly. Tondela have important absences for this final because they received yellow card against Pacos de Ferreira and so are now suspended - the best centre-back of the team, international for France U21 Sagnan, the topscorer of the team Joao Pedro and the best right-back Bebeto.
