FC Porto like I said in some previous picks are without any discussion the best team in Portugal at the moment and have the chance to win 2 titles this season - the League and the Portuguese Cup. They are motivated after an expressive win by 7-0 against Portimonense, but a game that was much contested by the rivals Benfica and Sporting as Portimonense started the game with 9 players from u23 and their best players were not even on the bench to rest them to the next game they will have against Moreirense. The 1st leg Porto won 2-1 in Estadio Jose de Alvalade as away, but a very misleading result in my opinion as Porto started the game with a defensive approach and Sporting CP created many chances and after scoring the 1st goal (an amazing long shot by Pablo Sarabia) was when Porto reacted and Sporting had no reaction to stop Porto and suffered 2 goals in only 5 minutes that cost them the game and then the goalkeeper Marchesin made an amazing save in the minute 90 from a header from Coates. In Portugal the rule of away goals still count for this season and so for Porto to be eliminated they need to concede 2 goals atleast. I expect Porto to rest some important players to the next match against Braga as this match can make Porto the new national champion. Yesterday Porto received bad news, their best centre-back and one of the best centre-backs of the century XXI received an suspension of 23 days and so will miss this important semi-final - Pepe and one of the most influent and best players from them will miss this game aswell due to a muscular injury, the midfielder Matheus Uribe international for Colombia. The focus of Porto is on the title and they know the advantage they have and will promote some rotation to prepare the visit to Braga.

Sporting CP will play this game for the only title they can discuss this season as on last weekend they lost at home against Benfica by 2-0 and it destroyed the ambition to revalidate the title they won in 2020/2021. They are doing a very good season in my opinion, but what Porto are doing is just from another world. Sporting went for the 2nd time in their history to the top 16 teams in Champions League, have the chance to do 85 points (the record of points they did was 86 points in 2015/2016 with Jorge Jesus). After the defeat against Benfica, which was totally deserved as they played terribly, the coach Ruben Amorim was pretty tough with the players and so a reaction is expected and some changes in the starting XI is expected. For sure Manuel Ugarte must start replacing Joao Palhinha and one of the most creative players in Portugal and the best player in dribbling must start instead of Pedro Goncalves who is having a bad moment. I think that will be very hard to eliminate Porto here, but I don't think that they will lose this game as Porto will be defending the 0-0 and resting a bit for the next game. The players love the coach Amorim and will do everything to defend him as in the press conference the coaches Sergio Conceicao and Ruben Amorim already exchanged some harsh words with each other.
